Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berbasis Aktivitas Fisik untuk Meningkatkan Kebugaran Jasmani Peserta Didik

Abstract:
This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of a physical-activity-based learning model in improving students’ physical fitness in Physical Education (PE) classes. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design. The participants consisted of students who took part in several weeks of structured and varied physical activity–based instruction. The instruments used included a physical fitness test covering cardiovascular endurance, upper-body muscular strength, abdominal muscle endurance, agility, and flexibility.The findings indicate a significant improvement in all components of physical fitness after the implementation of the learning model. Cardiovascular endurance increased, as shown by longer distances achieved in endurance running tests. Muscular strength and endurance improved through higher repetitions of push ups and sit ups. Agility also increased, demonstrated by faster times in the shuttle run test, while flexibility improved based on the sit and reach scores. These improvements suggest that structured and continuous physical activities are effective in stimulating students’ physiological adaptations and enhancing overall fitness levels. The results confirm that a physical-activity-based learning model is effective in improving students' physical fitness. Beyond physical benefits, the model also fosters motivation, active participation, and engagement during PE learning activities. Therefore, this learning model is recommended as a relevant and practical instructional strategy for enhancing physical fitness in school environments.
