Penggunaan Bahasa Daerah Dalam Kehidupan Sehari-hari Mahasiswa STIT Makrifatul Ilmi Terhadap Keterampilan Berbahasa Indonesia

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of regional language use on the Indonesian language speaking skills of students at the Makrifatul Ilmi Islamic Institute of South Bengkulu. This study employed a qualitative approach, seeking to understand phenomena or events. This approach was conducted by gathering in-depth information from the subjects (students). The results of this study indicate that regional languages ​​have a significant impact on students, from vocabulary and pronunciation to grammar. Furthermore, the use of regional languages ​​has a positive impact on students from the same ethnicity and region. Regional languages ​​play a crucial role in establishing a sense of shared identity among students on campus. Regional languages ​​are often used in informal interactions between students, especially outside the classroom, thus strengthening social relationships and facilitating communication.
